How to use a domain I purchased?

I have a website that I purchased. The name of the site is a specific search term that averages over 1 million searches per month on google with basically no or low competition. The CPC is about $1.40. So I went ahead and built a site and it is just sitting there with a title and a hello statement. It is sorta indexed in Google and Yahoo in that it shows the cache for the site. However, the terms are pretty buried in the search. They crawl my site about 50 times a day. I am not sure what to do with it. What now? As the expert domainers that you are, what would you recommend?

  1. Link to it from a few other sites. This will improve your ranking.

  2. Improve the content on the site. Make sure you use the keyword a lot in page title, content, HTML keywords, etc. This will improve your ranking.

Once you're in the top few search results for the "word" in the domain name, then you will get lots of traffic. Especially if there are really a million searches per month.
