What is the best way to setup email for my new domain?

I want to receive all email for any address @mynewdomain.com. So [EMAIL REMOVED] or [EMAIL REMOVED] would all forward to a single address.

I also don't want a lot of spam.

And I want free.

What are my options?

Here are some tips:

  1. Signup for a free Google Apps for your new domain. This gives you a free "gmail" style email account for your domain (plus calendar, docs, and a bunch of other cool google apps). In the settings for the email, you can forward all emails (catch-all) to a single account. You can access this gmail account from POP, too. Finally, note that you can host multiple domains under one Apps account, or make separate apps accounts for each.

  2. If you use NameCheap, they have a cool option for automatically setting up the MX records for that email account.

Google Apps is like having an "IT department in a box". Very quick and powerful.
