ccTld is an acronym for "Country Code Top Level Domain". These are country-specific domains names, as opposed to regular COM, NET, etc. The country specific domains are always two letters, and are the last part of the domain.

This is best illustrated by some examples.

  • DE is the ccTLD for Berlin.DE (note that DE is the biggest ccTLD).

  • MX is the ccTLD for Tequila.MX

  • www.BBC.co.UK <-- The ccTLD is UK and is at the END of the domain.
